The 2026 Camry is a carryover from the redesigned 2025 model with two updates worth noting:
- Nightshade Edition joins the lineup between SE and XLE, adding Midnight Black Metallic exterior accents (grille, air curtains, side canards, door handles, mirror caps, shark-fin antenna, rear diffuser, rear spoiler) and 19-in. satin black-finished alloy wheels.
- Dark Cosmos exterior color becomes available on SE, XLE, and XSE.
The Camry remains hybrid-only for 2026. There is no gas-only version.
Powertrain and Performance
Every 2026 Camry uses Toyota's fifth-generation Hybrid System (THS 5), pairing a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a continuously variable transmission. FWD trims produce 225 net combined horsepower; AWD trims produce 232 net combined horsepower with an additional rear electric motor that provides on-demand traction. Selectable drive modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, and EV Mode for low-speed electric-only operation.
The AWD system is electronic on-demand, engaging the rear electric motor only when the front wheels need assistance rather than running a mechanical driveshaft to the rear. That keeps efficiency strong while adding traction confidence on wet pavement or canyon roads.
