Rear-wheel drive is standard on the SR5 and Limited, while the Platinum, 1794 Edition, and Capstone come standard with four-wheel drive; the off-road TRD Pro is four-wheel drive only. Every 2026 Sequoia — from the SR5 to the Capstone — uses the same i-FORCE MAX twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 hybrid engine. It pairs the twin-turbo V6 with an integrated electric motor and a 10-speed automatic transmission to deliver a combined 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. Because the electric motor contributes torque immediately, the Sequoia accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 6 seconds despite its size.

On EPA-Estimated fuel economy, rear-wheel-drive models are rated at 21 mpg city / 24 mpg highway, and four-wheel-drive models at 19 mpg city / 22 mpg highway. When properly equipped, the Sequoia tows up to 9,520 lbs, making it capable of pulling boats, travel trailers, and other recreational loads.

The Capstone is the flagship of the Sequoia range. On the outside, it rides on 22-inch dark chrome alloy wheels and adds power-extending running boards that deploy when the doors open. Acoustic laminated front side glass helps keep the cabin quiet, complementing a 14-speaker JBL premium audio system and a 10-inch color Head-Up Display that projects driving information onto the windshield.

Inside, the Capstone features Shale Premium Textured leather-trimmed seating. The front seats are heated, ventilated, and massaging, and the available heated and ventilated seating extends to the first and second rows for year-round comfort.

The i-FORCE MAX system places the electric motor between the twin-turbo V6 and the 10-speed automatic in a parallel hybrid layout, drawing on a compact 1.87 kWh sealed nickel-metal hydride battery that recharges through regenerative braking and the engine. The third row does not fold entirely flat because the hybrid battery is packaged beneath the rear cargo floor. To make the most of the space, the Sequoia includes a standard power-folding third-row seat and an adjustable cargo shelf system, offering roughly 22 cubic feet of storage with the third row slid forward.
