Capability & Towing

When properly equipped, the 2026 4Runner tows up to 6,000 lbs. Off-road hardware includes the available Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism (SDM), which lets the front sway bar disconnect at the push of a button for greater suspension articulation, and Multi-Terrain Select with Crawl Control on TRD trims. The TRD Pro rides on FOX 2.5-inch QS3 internal-bypass shocks, while the overlanding-focused Trailhunter adds Old Man Emu 2.5-inch forged shocks, an ARB roof rack, an onboard air compressor, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.

Maximum towing capacity figures are for properly equipped vehicles and vary by configuration. Trailer, cargo, passengers, and optional equipment reduce available capacity. Consult the Owner's Manual and never exceed the vehicle's stated capacity.
