Los Angeles Toyota dealers may or may not get one of the new Special Edition 2016 Toyota Prius C vehicles on their lots. The special edition is limited to 1500 units, and it’s predicted that they will sell out fast. Who doesn’t like a super compact car with great fuel economy, a bright look, and amazing safety features?

The Best Things Come in Small Packages

Out of Toyota’s 8 hybrid models, the 2016 Toyota Prius C is the smallest. However the brand-new-for-2016 Toyota Safety Sense-C system packs a punch that other small cars simply don’t have. Fuel economy is also a big concern for those who choose hybrid vehicles, and the Prius C is untouchable, with 53 MPG city fuel economy. But, what about looks? The Prius C features a new Persona Series of eye-catching color combinations and other visual upgrades you won’t get on any other vehicle.

Playful for 2016

The Persona Series special edition is only available in Black. But you get the choice of 2 color accents that are only available on these vehicles, Electric Lime or Cherry Pearl. These accents contrast with the black to give a flash of color on the lower front grille trim, underneath the headlights and underneath the side windows. The special color accents are also on the outside power mirrors and interior rearview mirror shell. The 15 inch black alloy wheels and “Persona Series” badge pull the look together nicely. Fabric trimmed two-tone seats, cruise control, cargo area cover, 60/40 split fold down rear seats, and engine immobilizer are all upgrades to the typical Prius.

As always, Toyota is big on offering technology to its drivers. The Prius C offers the Smart Key System on both the front doors and the lift gate. Push button start and remote lighted entry, Touch Tracer Display, and Entune Premium Audio with Integrated Navigation and apps are just a few of the features you get with this tiny car. If you aren’t familiar with the Entune audio systems, it is a comprehensive system that includes an app suite, HD radio, HD predictive traffic, Doppler weather overlay, and SiriusXM All Access Radio and AM/FM cache radio.

Keeping It Safe

Being a Toyota means that this vehicle is extremely safe to begin with, but they’ve added to the normal safety features for the Prius C. The Star Safety System includes vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brake system, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, and smart stop technologies. When you add in the Toyota Safety Sense C, you’ll also have an array of driver-assist technologies, including Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Assist, and Automatic High Beams.

The Prius has gone through many renovations and upgrades since it was first introduced. The 2016 Prius C is an all new take on an old favorite that will please anyone looking for versatility, ease, and affordability. With only 1500 being made, if you want to take a test drive in one of these and have a chance to purchase one, you may want to head to your Los Angeles Toyota dealer now and start asking about them.

The Limited Edition 2016 Prius C goes on sale in December. Does anyone think there will be one left on any lot by January?
