2015 Camry Seventh Generation Changes

Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda had a dream—to make the Toyota Camry a car that is fun to drive. He has achieved that dream with the 2015 Camry XSE V6. This is a four-door, five-passenger sedan. It’s not necessarily a super sporty car, but it is a car that anyone from a high school student to a grandmother can drive and feel comfortable in. It is a family-sized sedan, not a tiny coupe, making it ideal for singles, couples, and families.

Everything Changed

For 2015, the 3.5 liter V6 with 268 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque was re-engineered. This involved using about 2,000 new parts. Toyota says that the only thing that is the same on this vehicle is the roof. The suspension has been fine-tuned for more spirited driving and better handling. Basically, the handling now fits the shape and trim of the car. There are 4 trim levels for the Camry, including a base LE, mid-level SE, XSE, or the loaded XLE.

The XSE has an independent strut system by Macpherson utilizing a stabilizer bar in the front, with a multilink independent rear suspension kit, also with a stabilizer bar. Sport shocks and springs offer a firmer suspension than the LE and XLE versions. Those models are made for comfort rather than handling. The V6 engine on the XSE is more than capable of hitting 21 city and 31 highway miles per gallon. You can go from 0 to 60 in just over six-seconds, with the responsive transmission and paddle shift levers meaning that this Camry definitely has some get up and go.

Fresh New Appearance

When it comes to looks, the Camry features a new blacked-out mesh grille that goes well with its now wider stance. There are sharp character lines that make the vehicle look sporty and aggressive, as well as new taillight housings and aerodynamic features to help lend it style and help with gas mileage. The interior is made up of higher quality materials, soft touch panels, and single-needle stitching, making the Camry a car that looks all grown up. Eight-way driver’s power seat adjustment makes getting behind the wheel and on the road quick and easy.

Technology Updates

When it comes to connectivity and technology, the 2015 Toyota Camry XSE V6 is definitely a dream come true. With an Entune premium system that features JBL audio, navigation, and app suite, as well as a seven-inch high-res touchscreen display, it is easy to access apps and Sirius XM Satellite radio, and to interface an MP3 player, iPod, auxiliary audio, voice recognition, Bluetooth, and even Gracenotes. Everything you need is at your fingertips and easy to use.

Toyota Safety Features

Safety, as always, is a major part of any Toyota vehicle design, and the 2015 Camry is no different. It is loaded with advanced safety features like Toyota’s Pre-Collision System, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control. Rather than take the control away from the driver, the lane departure alert is simply an alarm, rather than the wheel turning to pull you back into your lane.
